Our mission on social media

When we started our Instagram account, we asked ourselves, what would be the message we want to spread?

Obviously we stand for LGBT visibilty and normalization,  but we also hope to inspire our followers how to spend time with their partners.
No matter if gay or straight.

Because if there is one thing, that Aga and me are really good at, then it’s spending quality time together.
Of course it can be hard, we both get lost in our work and shift plans, cleaning the house and buying groceries…

believe us: we know those struggles too!

But no matter how much time we (don’t) have – we try to share moments together.

Even if that means to sacrifice sleep, to hang out at the others workplace, after finishing our own shift, or just to meet up for a quick coffee before one of us has to start her work.

We make it happen.

One of our “couple traditions” is our weekly fun-date.
Every week we go at least once out on a fun date.
And we’re pretty creative when it comes to our date activities.

That’s why we got the idea to share those with you in a mini series:

Fun dates in Amsterdam!

We start our series with a fun date that is also suitable for rainy days, what comes very handy, because the majority of days in Amsterdam are rainy.

Btw. did we actually mention that on exactly this date night there was a proper Tornado in Amsterdam, just while we were sitting in a Sushi restaurant?

But back to topic:
Since the weather was miserable all week, Aga had the idea we could check out the Museum of Modern Art, the so called Moco Musum in the centre of Amsterdam.

It’s definitely worth it to order the tickets online, because you don’t only spare yourself the long queues at the entrance but you might also get it a bit cheaper.
Because those tickets are kind of pricey. (Especially under the consideration how small this museum actually is).

Plus it’s not included in the “Museums-Card” that many people have.
But unfortunately we’re much better in treating ourselves than in saving money,
so we didn’t mind to spend it on tickets, as well as snacks before the museum and a dinner and wine afterwards. 

The Moco Museum

The Moco museum is located on the famous Museumsplein right in the centre of Amsterdam.

It’s nice to enter through the hallway of the Rijksmuseum, because there are always some talented musicians spreading a cultivated vibe.

Of course it wouldn’t be Aga and me if we would not stop constantly for food and drinks.
So we didn’t even make it to the museum without having a small bite on the Museumsplein.
There are a lot of food trucks and small stands where you can grab some snacks and drinks.

It’s most probably one of the most expensive places to get a burger and fries, but it was still yummi – and vegan.

Life is definitely too short to stay hungry.

The museum looks already pretty cool from outside, with some colourful modern art in the garden and the pink flags everywhere.

Inside it looks more like a normal house, than a museum, just that there is no furniture and the rooms are full of cool stuff.

The exhibitions change from time to time, right now we could see Banksy “Laugh now”, Daniel Arsham “Connecting Time” and “Transformed Space” by Yayoi Kusama.

The so called Moco Masters by means Icons like Warhol, Basquiat, Haring, Koons, Kusama, Hirst and Dali are permanent.

We had a real good time and used the chance to take lots of colourful and cool pics.

After about one hour we were done with the museum and went…well, what do you think?

Right! We went to a restaurant!
After the museum is before the food!

We had nice Sushi in a small place in Amsterdam Zuid, and zipped cosy on our wines, not even knowing, that meanwhile a Tornardo went straight through the channels at the Central Station.

The only thing we had on our minds was, to keep on drinking wine until the weather would be nicer to walk home.

That’s so us.

Soooo that was our fun date in Amsterdam on a rainy day.
Or shall I better say during a Tornardo?
